Admittedly, I like to write; but with Teamplace and the iPhone as a publication tool, writing, easy revising and publishing go so quickly that creating articles is even more fun.
As an executive, I travel a lot and I like to use the travel time to write. For example, when I’m supposed to report on an event, I’m usually already thinking about the basic framework of the article on the flight there. Many people use a Bluetooth keyboard with the iPad, but these keyboards also work perfectly with the iPhone. The combination can’t be beat in terms of compactness and it is guaranteed to fit on any economy seat. Experience has shown that, on location, the iPhone camera delivers the appropriate quality for the pictures that no report can do without.
When the first draft of my text is finished with Pages, I upload it together with the pictures from my iPhone to a newly created Teamplace. I then invite a person from my team to proofread and comment on my text. Thanks to Smart Filing, uploading and resaving documents from one Teamplace is child’s play and it lets me implement the feedback very quickly with my iPhone. In the process, Teamplace creates a new document version after every change, which allows me to access my original draft at any time.
Then it’s time for the pictures, which absolutely need a compelling caption. Experience has shown that the simplest thing in this case is to change the file name of the picture accordingly. To do this, I simply go into the overview, where I can well distinguish the individual pictures by their thumbnails, and go to the picture. I press on it until the menu appears, select “Rename” and give the picture the title I want.
Before the event has even ended, I invite the journalist in charge to my Teamplace with the finished article and the pictures and I fly home relaxed. If I’ve done a good job, then my article appears immediately after the event.
